Tragically I lost a good friend in The Station fire.
I had known The Doctor since the late 80's, he was a great guy - everytime I
saw him he had a smile on his face and was always in a great mood.
One consolation - although his life was cut short it was a great one.
He loved rockin' at 94HJY, sports, & working at The Foxy Lady - it doesn't get any better than that!
I’ll never forget the time I ran into Doc in Toronto (see 1st 2 pictures below). I was at the Bruins last game ever at Maple Leafs Gardens and heard someone yelling "Schuster, Schuster", I turned around, and there was The Doctor! I last heard from The Doc the evening before his death. I had invited him up to Foxboro to see his Cowboys face my Patriots - he was really looking forward to it. Something to think about - The Metal Zone’s airwaves have been emanating from the Earth for the past 17 years - and will continue propagate throughout the universe for eternity. So it’s quite possible that alien civilizations are being (or will be) introduced to heavy metal music by The Doctor. |

In 1999 I flew to Toronto to see the Boston Bruins last game ever at Maple Leafs Gardens. Before the game I heard someone yelling "Schuster, Schuster". I thought "Great, a hoser that can read", but I turned around and it was Dr. Metal! He had driven all the way from Providence to Toronto in a blizzard to see the game. |
